Atleast 3 interesting/entertaining facts about the band that are related to persons/places/things/events that happened in the Washington DC area. Give us fun stuff, not normal bio stuff!: 1. Jazz Samba Project CD (2012) celebrated the 1962 recording of Stan Getz and Charlie Byrd's Jazz Samba recording in 1962. The original album - an instrumental jazz album - went to #1 on the Billboard Pop Music chart for 17 weeks and introduced Brazilian music to the world. Our album made it to #4 on the US jazz chart.
2. Over the last two years the band have been commissioned to write and perform a play at the Atlas Theater, DC, and to create a one hour show with Arlington contemporary dance group Company Danzante which has been performed at theaters and in public spaces.
3. The band have earned 6 WAMMIE awards (including best jazz vocals, band and recording) and regularly play Blues Alley, Strathmore, Kennedy Center and many more DC venues.
