Band Members: Silo Halo is a band from Los Angeles and Washington, DC, comprised of Christopher Goett (The Undercast, Girl Loves Distortion) and Greg Svitil (Teething Veils, The Antiques). The band played its first show in the spring of 2010. Additional members have included Ivan Basauri, Alejandro Castaño, Christin Durham, Chuck Engel, Nathan Jurgenson, Stacey Lockerman, and Davis White.

What part of the DC region is the artist tied to and how? Where is the artist's current home base if not DC : Petworth DC. Chris and Greg lived 10 blocks apart in the zip code 20011 for 10+ years.

At least 3 interesting/entertaining facts about the band related to persons/events in Washington DC area: Empress of Sound Studio (EOS) is an artist-run analog and digital recording facility in the Petworth neighborhood of Washington, DC. It was founded in 2009 by Greg Svitil and Christopher Goett. 

EOS remains an important hub of rehearsal and music-creation for Silo Halo to this day. Upcoming song "Casa Alta" from the band's pending 2017 release was arranged and recorded there.

Early musical collaboration between Chris and Greg included recording and mixing Fangs Out's debut LP "Speech Shadowing" (2010) as well as mastering Locrian's "Endless Plains / Flat Horizon" cassette (2009).

Anything else we should know, or you want to share: The band is self-managed and operates under the umbrella of Etxe Records, an independent label founded by Christopher Goett and label-partner Jenn Thomas in 2007. The band maintains a preference to engage in activities that enhance community. We've actively participated in Girls Rock DC and other benefit shows within DC.

Silo Halo will have a new release in the the fall of 2017 (currently being mastered) featuring 10 songs.
