Story behind your band/artist name: We are four members, each living in a different state. I'm Joel, and I am from Manassas, Virginia. We met online in a weekly radio show chat group. We use technology and the Internet to collaborate and create music, with us each recording and mixing in our own home studios.

Band Members: Steve Stoeckel (of The Spongetones) - acoustic guitar, bass, vocals; Bruce Gordon (Mr. Encrypto) - acoustic guitar, keyboards, vocals; Stacy Carson - drums, vocals; Joel Tinnel - electric guitars, vocals

What part of the DC region is the artist tied to and how? Where is the artist's current home base if not DC : Joel has lived in Manassas, VA since 1987. Steve is in Charlotte, NC. Bruce is in Los Angeles, CA, and Stacy is in Ocoee, FL

At least 3 interesting/entertaining facts about the band related to persons/events in Washington DC area: All four band members have never been in the same room at the same time.

Bruce and Joel have only met in person once, and that was in DC. They had lunch at Old Ebbitt Grill near the White House.

Joel was a big fan of The Spongetones. He first heard their song "(My Girl) Maryanne" on the college radio station, but the name wasn't announced so he couldn't find it. Ten years later, he was listening to music suggested by a friend, when the song came on. He started screaming "THAT'S THE SONG!" loudly enough to shake his wife. When Joel first met Steve (Spongetones bassist and lead singer), he turned into "spastic fan boy". Little did he know he would eventually wind up in a band with Steve.

Steve and his wife found a copy of The Spongetones Beat Music at Crooked Beat Records while visiting DC with Joel. The staff was surprised to find they had a "star" in the house.

Stacy has never been to DC. We are determined to change that.

Joel has always loved working with wood. He builds a lot of the guitars he plays on Pop Co-Op's music.

Joel has a great musical sense of humor and does an amazing Lester "Roadhog" Moran impression.

Joel played for many years in a northern Virginia wedding band called Tomcats. The movie "The Wedding Singer" made him cry.

Anything else we should know, or you want to share: We've been invited to record a song for a new Matthew Sweet tribute CD, by Futureman Records. We are recording it now.
