At least 3 interesting/entertaining facts about the band related to persons/events in Washington DC area: 1) By day I work in law enforcement in Northern Virginia. Like, full blown, have-a-badge, went-to-the-police-academy, carry-a-gun law enforcement. And I'm also a Mormon. So I'm pretty straight-laced as far as musicians go which totally comes out in my music. If you're looking for some raw, edgy, drug-fueled power jams...sadly they're not here.
2) My most requested song, "Hot Park Ranger", was written one summer when I worked at Ford's Theatre. And the aforementioned Hot Park Ranger was indeed a really hot park service employee I gazed at longingly from my cash register at the gift shop. Never spoke to him but I did find him through some serious Facebook stalking and he's really into larping so yes, he's totally my type.
3) My mom works for the Federal Reserve on Pennsylvania Avenue. One time on the fourth of July we went to watch the fireworks on the mezzanine and Ben Bernanke was there and let me tell you, it's really fascinating to see arguably the second most powerful human being in the free world wearing ill-fitting khakis.
Anything else we should know, or you want to share: Quail Bell Magazine once wrote "There's a hell of lot about Nardo Lilly that’s really cool, and not just because she had a good sandwich", which is one of the nicest things anyone has ever said about me.
