Band/Artist Name & Pronunciation: Makeup Girl, May-Cup Girl

Recommended if you like: Tame Impala, The Strokes, Frank Ocean

Story behind your band/artist name: There is not a good one haha.

Band Members: Brody - guitar, vocals, bass; Caleb - drums; Johnny - baritone guitar, keyboards; Avery - bass; Bryce - guitar.

What part of the DC region is the artist tied to and how? Where is the artist's current home base if not DC : We are tied to NE DC and the PG/MD area. Based out of Mount Rainier MD, right on the edge of DC, we largely feel like part of the city of Washington DC, as well as PG county and the state of Maryland.

At least 3 interesting/entertaining facts about the band related to persons/events in Washington DC area: 1. The father of Avery and Brody Steck, Charles Steck was in a band with Jeff Nelson of minor threat.
2. Brody and Caleb made their debut Fort Reno appearance playing as 2-piece pop-punk band The Accidentals in 2013 opening for the DC band Priest. The Washington City Post falsely reported that the band was an acapella group also named The Accidentals. Fun times :)
3. Brody took guitar lessons from the DC-guitar legend Mary Timony for 2 or 3 years. They only stopped because Mary's band Ex Hex blew up!

Anything else we should know, or you want to share: We love DC music and try to embrace many different styles we hear in the area in our music. Our EP "Living Safe" is our biggest and best EP yet, and we hope that whoever listens to it can find something of their own in the music.
