Anything else we should know, or you want to share: A native of Richmond, Virginia and a product of Howard University, Kia made her introduction into the entertainment world while singing with former Washington D.C. group "Entyme" along with other respected soul artists Geno Young, Sy Smith, and Yahzarah. Kia is a member of the new school RAMP (Roy Ayers Music Production) whose musical contributions provided the world with samples for hits like A Tribe Called Quest's "Bonita Applebum", Mary J. Blige's "My Life" and Erykah Badu's "Amerykah's Promise". Ms. Bennett is best noted for her background vocals which supported international recording artists D'Angelo, Ledisi, Russell Taylor, Michael Bolton, Angela Stribling, Julie Dexter, and Deborah Bond.

In 2015, Kia made her debut performance at the famed Bohemian Caverns Jazz Club and the legendary Blues Alley Jazz Supper Club in Washington, D.C. These two lovely evenings were welcomed with four sold out performances. Kia performed in her hometown of Richmond, Virginia through The Richmond Jazz Society’s Guest Educator Series, where she gave two sold out shows as well. Kia has graced the stages of The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Blues Alley, Bohemian Caverns, The Richmond Jazz Society’s Guest Educator Series, The Richmond Jazz Festival At Maymont, Drom, The Shrine, Gin Fizz, Silvana, LeftField, and The Bitter End in New York.

Kia was nominated as 2012 Best New Artist and 2017 Song of The Year (A Beautiful Forever) for SoulTracks Readers Choice Awards. Kia is also a Board Member and Governor of The Washington D.C. Chapter of the Recording Academy (Grammys) and currently serves as head of The Richmond Committee. She currently has an EP entitled, Duet of Daffodils and is currently working on her full length album.
