Story behind your band/artist name: Singer-songwriter Elena Lacayo is a former nonprofit pro working on immigration issues who left politics in DC to form a bilingual folk rock band called Elena & Los Fulanos, with a few friends. Still based in DC, she and her band have become the voice of immigrants and other marginalized groups marching and protesting everything from the end of DACA to LGBTQ issues and support for Black Lives Matter. On any given day, Elena can be found with her guitar supporting different movements and rallies.
