is also the drummer in the DC original rock band, Fellowcraft. Brian, an FSU graduate, grew up a military brat, and traveled all over the nation, finally settling into his second career in DC in 2010. Brian started playing drums at age 11, and performed consistently, even into college. After a 12 year break from drumming, Fellowcraft brought Brian out of retirement. Brian's other fun side jobs include: Spinning and Bodypump group fitness instructor, professional facilitator, and public speaker.
Daniel (Dan) Warren Hill...
is the Show Coordinator and Assistant to Brian. He helps our guests put together the items needed for their appearance on the show, and makes sure the episodes are properly scheduled and prepared. Daniel is also the owner of Alchemical Records and front man for one of DC's alternative rock bands, Yellow Tie Guy.
This all started...
with Brian playing shows around the region and meeting some of the most incredibly talented musicians in the DC region. He realized that following and finding great local music isn't hard like it used to be, you can follow them just like you do the big names. It's really cool see these artists kill it on stage, then the next day, randomly bump into them around town! He enjoyed sharing these artists with his friends, and when the opportunity came up to host a radio show and share with even more of the community, he jumped on it.
The Mission of DC Music Rocks is...
to organize and share DC's incredible local music scene and share it with the community. The syndicated FM radio show/podcast highlights the great music, artists, and amazing people in the scene. The DC Artist Database organizes and presents the artists we share on the show, allowing the community to discover DC's great musicians easily. The Local Music Calendar presents shows within a 25 mile radius of DC, that artists from our database share on bandsintown, allowing the community to find local shows they'd be interested in, preview the artists by viewing their profiles, and narrow down the results by State, City, Artist, and Venue. The Playlists page organizes the music we've found, and keeps it together so the community can more easily enjoy DC's local music. We're confident you're gonna love what you discover as much as we do!
We Will Call it Success if You:
- hear a song you like which you've never heard before.
- follow an artist online and/or like their Facebook page.
- See a show to catch one of these incredible artists in action, because DC music is better live!
- rock out, bob your head, or dance a little, to any of this music. :-)
