about

Brian Nelson-Palmer...

is also the drummer in the DC original rock & roll band, Fellowcraft. Brian, an FSU graduate, grew up a military brat, and traveled all over the nation, finally settling into his second career in DC in 2010. Brian started playing drums at age 11, and performed consistently, even into college. After a 12 year break from drumming, Fellowcraft brought Brian out of retirement. Brian's other fun side jobs include: Spinning and Bodypump group fitness instructor, professional facilitator, and public speaker.

This all started...

with Brian playing shows around the region and meeting some of the most incredibly talented musicians in the DC region.  He realized that following and finding great local music isn't hard like it used to be, you can follow them just like you do the big names.  It's really cool see these artists kill it on stage, then the next day, randomly bump into them around town!  He enjoyed sharing these artists with his friends, and when the opportunity came up to host a radio show and share with even more of the community, he jumped on it.

The Mission of DC Music Rocks is...

to organize and share DC's incredible artists and share them with the community.  The FM radio show/podcast highlights the great music and amazing people in the scene.  The DC Artist Database organizes and presents the artists we share on the show, allowing the community to discover DC's great musicians easily.  The Local Music Calendar presents the show schedules that artists share on bandsintown all in one place, allowing the community to find shows they'd be interested in, and narrow down the results by State, City, Artist, and Venue.  We're confident you're gonna love what you discover as much as we do!
